What does it mean to be a facilitator for mental well-being?

Facilitators help to provide peer support to support mental well-being. In order to do so, we equip you with the necessary skills, including: mental health literacy, self-compassion, deep listening, and group facilitation.

  • The safety of our facilitators and participants is our priority. Led by this guiding principle, we ensure that facilitators have the skillset and capacity to hold space for others, and are adequately supported throughout their volunteering experience.

  • All our facilitators undergo a facilitator training programme and have to pass a final assessment to ascertain their readiness to become a facilitator.

  • Facilitators will also be mentored to start and run a peer support programme to support their local community at Toa Payoh West-Thomson.

What to expect?

1. Training

Wed, 28 Feb & 6 Mar | 7:30 - 9:30 PM (Virtual)

Training is a combination of self-paced learning and live sessions. You'll need to attend at least 2 of 3 live training sessions and complete all the self-paced exercises to complete the full training programme.

3. Facilitating

Ongoing basis

Facilitators who pass the training programme will be mentored to start and run a peer support programme for the Toa Payoh West-Thomson community. Facilitators will also be invited to support the Calm Circles programme.
